A very high demand is placed on the execution of industrial floors, regarding their surface, which must be completely flat and smooth. Skilled professionals for industrial floors carry out the work with high precision, so that no depressions could form in the floor later, due to overloading or non-adequate load-bearing base. The selection and precise installation of thermal insulation on industrial floors are extremely important.

Thermal insulation of industrial floors

The type of thermal insulation FIBRANxps, to be used as energy shield on extremely loaded industrial floors, is selected by statics expert, taking into account the assumed loading of the floor. Insulations for high loading must have declared compression strength (at 10% deformation) from 300 to 700 kPa. The boards are produced with shiplap edge, and can be used as a single layer thermal insulation. They are laid in a staggered pattern, so that a compact base of interlocked boards is formed. Before reinforcing and pouring the concrete, a sealing membrane is laid over the boards. If protection against impact sound is required, a closed cell polyethylene foam FIBRANxpe for preventing impact sound, is used, acting also as a sealing layer.
Installation of thermal insulation

Before installing rigid thermal insulation boards it may be necessary to level out the base on which the thermal insulation is laid, as the base is usually not carried out with the greatest precision. To avoid mistakes that occur because the concrete base is not completely flat, it should be first leveled out with a thin layer of thin sand, so that FIBRANxps floor thermal insulation boards are laid evenly across the foundation before being loaded with the load-bearing concrete slab.

A sealing layer is laid over the thermal insulation, over which the planned reinforcement is placed. If the load-bearing floor slab requires a construction expansion joints, which is carried out, e.g. with special elements, allowing movement in longitudinal direction, this enables movements due to sliding and constriction of concrete on thermal insulation. Construction expansion joints are filled up with the adequate durable flexible joint sealant.
