On a flat roof, thermally insulated with INVERTED ROOF system, the waterproofing layer is reliably protected against environmental impacts with rigid and water resistant XPS thermal insulation, which gives the roof the desired durability.

INVERTED ROOF is the roof of the future

With the revolutionary invention of INVERTED ROOFS, the flat roofs have regained trust, providing ensured durability and additional useful surfaces with no extra cost. With thermal insulation boards FIBRANxps in the INVERTED ROOF system, a flat roof can be turned into a useful terrace, a roof garden, a parking lot or even a sports ground.

In all the INVERTED ROOF systems the waterproofing layer is protected against too rapid aging (too rapid material exhaustion due to its age and temperature fluctuations) and mechanical damage, by applying thermal insulation made of extruded polystyrene, e.g. with FIBRANxps 300-L boards, which ensures the roof’s durability. At the same time the INVERTED ROOF system ensures long-lasting thermal performance, as thermal insulation FIBRANxps provides effective insulation also in humid environment.

In every respect, the INVERTED ROOF is the best choice for a roof, for the builder, as well as for the investor, or user, and so the popularity of this system has been increasing. The oldest roofs of this kind are more than half a century old, and still meet all the design requirements.

Construction of INVERTED ROOFS

In an INVERTED ROOF the insulation boards are laid in one layer. In case of multi-layer insulation, especially when building low-energy constructions that require very thick roof thermal insulation DUO roof  or OPTIMO inverted roof's  system is chosen.
When refurbishing (in case of remedial work of)an existing roof a PLUS roof is chosen.

Thermal insulation of inverted roofs

Thermal insulation must have the following technical characteristics, in order to meet the requirements of the inverted roof system:

  • declared compressive strength CS(Y10) ≥ 300 kPa (30 ton/m2at 10% deformation)
  • long-term water absorption by diffusion WD(V) ≤ 3 vol. %
  • long-term water absorption by immersion WL(T) ≤ 0,7 vol. %
  • shiplap board edges (L edge)
  • smooth board surface
